City! City!

This page includes work from my graphic design internship with Cardiff City in 2016. As I hope is evident from my other pages, I have come a long way as a designer since then! I have included this work as it was an important step in my professional development. It was during this internship that I had my first experience of working in a professional design environment at a fast pace, working to meet deadlines and producing quickfire graphics.

The Bluebird

I secured my internship at Cardiff City with the marketing team by creating a set of professional matchday programme covers for the upcoming season. Whilst the designs were not pursued for the programmes, they became the styling format for their social media materials.

Bartley the Bluebird

During my internship, I was tasked with redesigning the club for their young fans, Junior Bluebird. The key element of which was updating their club mascot Bartley Bluebird.

The redesign of the Junior Bluebirds was a priority ahead of the upcoming season, as the club wanted to appeal to their younger fans. With this in mind, I created a fun and child-friendly logo, shown to the left.

Fixture Announcements

On fixture day, I created all of the online content which was published to the eagerly awaiting Cardiff City fans. The graphics included all of the club’s 2016/17 fixtures, their first game of the season and the one all of the Cardiff fans had been waiting for – when they would play Bristol Rovers. This was a hectic but exhilarating experience!
